Selkies are creatures from Celtic mythology. They appear as seals in the sea, but shed their magical skins and take on a human form to dance in the moonlight. If their skins are stolen and hidden by a human, the selkie is forced to stay in their human form on land, longing for their selkie family.
This watercolour was painted to represent freedom. This selkie keeps her precious skin close by, using her magical portal to step from land to see when the fancy takes her. She is at no ones mercy!
A perfect print for lovers or lore and mythology.
Printed on Hahnemuhle William Turner 190gsm fineart paper to recreate an authentic likeness of the original artwork.
Always posted in environmentally conscious packaging, sometimes recycled, but always beautifully wrapped inside.
