As autumn’s creatures come to play,
with faerie friends through night and day,
a napping faerie takes a risk,
as hungry snails are rather brisk!
With eyes so long it begs belief,
that faerie wings look like a leaf!
“Halt that feast my one foot friend,
before you drive me round the bend!”
But snails are creatures born to munch.
A leaf, a mushroom…….tasty lunch!
The snail replied with hungry eyes
“I really thought I’d found a prize!”
“Well next time when you start to munch,
Remember faeries aren’t your lunch!
We dwell beside you in this wood!
And if you bite, it’s salt for pud!”
